Desk research involves gathering already existing and available market information.

 

Secondary data are obtained from: Already conducted market research sources, Government statistical offices, Internet and press resources, Industry experts, Directories, Company personnel.

 

The advantages of this research method are: short execution time and low cost of conducting an analysis. The disadvantages depend on the fact that available data may not match our research issue while the access to proper data is often limited.
